Ask the Expert:
Dear Dr. SeeWell,
I've been using my side-cutter pliers for two years now, and I am discovering that on a busy day, my hand tends to cramp from applying pressure to cut down screws. I'm concerned that if I keep this up, I may develop carpal tunnel syndrome. Can you offer any suggestions?

Dear L.K.,
I can offer you three suggestions. It sounds like you are doing quite a bit of cutting. On one hand, perhaps your sidecutters are beginning to show wear and are losing their edge sharpness. Dynamic Labs has a Side Cutter (6150091) that has specially designed jaws that allow it to cut screws very close and still retain it's super sharp edge. Additionally, we also have a Side Cutter with an ergonomic handle (6150191) that is guaranteed to take the pressure off your hand and put it in the blade where it belongs, thereby reducing cramping! And finally, check out our line of self-aligning and hinge-finder screws with a special scored pointed end that makes cutting off the end a real snap!
